A software pirate humiliates himself in to escape huge fines

Due to his act of piracies, Microsoft is predicted to lose up to IDR 3.8 billion Brilio.net

For most of YouTubers, getting 200 thousand of viewers is a road to fame. However, it would be a different case for a man named Jakub F from the Czech Republic.

I started this page because I spent eight years distributing pirated software and then get caught, explained Jakub.

For Jakub, having 200 thousand of viewers in YouTube would lighten his punishment. TorrentFreak as reported by Guardian, had caused big losses to some big companies such as HBO, Microsoft, Sony Music, and Twentieth Century Fox.

According to the Business Software Alliance (BSA), Microsoft claimed to value its losses at 5.7 million Czech Crown (IDR 3.8 billion). However, BSA is fully aware that Jakub would not be able to pay such an amount of money.

The companies were looking for other alternatives to convict Jakub where they were going to accept a small compensation if Jakub was willing to make a short video. Another requirement was that the video he made must be viewed by at least 200,000 viewers within two months of its publication.

Cited by brilio.net/en from BBC, Monday, November 30, 2015, the BSA spokesman said that the stipulation was to ensure that Jakub would help share it as widely as possible. However, if the video failed to reach the target, theoretically, the companies could bring Jakub to the civil court in forcing him to pay the compensation.

So, would Jakub be able to pass this punishment? Feel free to check the video.
