A blender is a kitchen tool that is very useful in making the food preparation process easier. This tool functions to mix, crush and puree various types of food ingredients, such as fruit, vegetables, even ice cubes and nuts. With a blender, making various kinds of foods such as smoothies, soups, sauces, and even baby food can be faster and more efficient.

However, with frequent use, blender blades can become dull. This condition not only reduces the blender's efficiency in grinding food ingredients, but also causes the machine to work harder and risks breaking down quickly. In addition, the results of grinding with a dull knife tend to be uneven, making it difficult to achieve the desired food texture.

So, to solve this problem, many people choose to disassemble the blender and replace the blades. Indeed, new blender blades tend to be sharper and can be used optimally in smoothing food ingredients. On the other hand, buying a blender blade or even a new blender will certainly cost you more capital.

Even though you know what? There is a cheaper and more practical way to deal with dull blender blades. An Instagram user @sakinahsil once shared a simple trick for sharpening a blender knife to make it sharp again.

Since it was uploaded on May 18, this video about tricks for dealing with blunt blender knives has been viewed more than 7,000 times. Who would have thought, many Instagram netizens admitted that they had just discovered this trick. Through the comments column, a number of Instagram users are interested in trying it directly.

Through one of the uploaded videos, he admitted that he only spent IDR 2,000 to make the blender knife sharp again. As reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @sakinahsil on Sunday (28/7), he used this capital to buy a packet of coarse salt.

This coarse salt is used to sharpen blender knives. How to use it is quite easy. First, put 1-2 tablespoons of coarse salt in a blender. Then add enough water. Then close the blender and turn it on for just 2-3 minutes. When coarse salt is put into a blender, the hard grains will rub against the surface of the blade. This friction helps wear away the dull coating on the blade, similar to the way sandpaper works to smooth and sharpen a metal surface.

So, after blending for 2-3 minutes, throw away the water mixed with the salt. After that, rinse the blender under running water until the salt residue is completely removed. That way, the blender will be sharp again and can be used more optimally to puree various food ingredients.
