Rachel Vennya chose a different way to celebrate her 29th birthday. This year, she decided to hold a simple event of dinner with close friends and family, different from previous celebrations that tended to be glamorous .
However, there is something else that makes Rachel's birthday this time even more special. As a form of gratitude for her increasing age, she built a prayer room in a remote area of Cianjur.
Rachel's decision to build this prayer room was apparently inspired by the advice of her late grandfather, whom she called Antan (a nickname for grandfathers in the Minang community), who once reminded her of the importance of giving alms. Antan had suggested that Rachel build a mosque or prayer room as a form of gratitude for the sustenance she had received.
Although Antan passed away on September 16 and did not have the chance to see the prayer room built by Rachel, the celebrity is sure that Antan must be proud of her actions. Rachel expressed her feelings in a touching post.
"Dear Antan, Rachel's birthday is in 3 days. Usually, Rachel always has a big celebration every year, but this year Rachel just wants to have a dinner with friends and family," wrote Rachel.
Rachel then continued her upload by remembering Antan's advice that left a mark on her heart. She also expressed her gratitude and sadness because Antan did not get to see the results of her advice.
"Antan, do you remember Antan once said, 'I'm ashamed of Allah, I've been given sustenance but what I've wasted is not commensurate with charity, build a mosque, build a prayer room'. Today, Rachel's prayer room has been completed. By God's will, Antan had to pass away on September 16th and didn't get to see Rachel's surprise. But Antan must be proud, right?" Rachel continued in her upload.
