Brilio.net - Scallions are one of the kitchen ingredients that play an important role in enriching the taste and aroma of dishes. With a fresh and slightly spicy taste, scallions are often used as a complementary seasoning or garnish for various dishes, from soups, stir-fries, to baked goods. The advantages of scallions lie not only in their taste, but also in their crunchy texture when added at the end of the cooking process.

In addition to adding flavor, spring onions are also rich in nutrients that are beneficial for health. Spring onions contain vitamins A, C, and K, as well as various minerals such as potassium and calcium. The antioxidant content in spring onions helps boost the immune system and fight free radicals. The many advantages of spring onions make this spice often stored as stock.

Unfortunately, these spring onions tend to rot easily when stored. Usually this is indicated by the texture of the stem being soft or the leaves starting to dry out. Well, to prevent faster rotting, some people usually store spring onions in the freezer. So, spring onions will be frozen to last longer. This is considered to be able to prevent rotting and keep spring onions fresh green.

However, besides freezing, there are other ways that can be applied if you want to extend the shelf life of spring onions. This method was once shared by Instagram user @rumahummii.
