Brilio.net - Teflon or non-stick pan is one of the most necessary tools in the kitchen. This is due to its ability to cook various types of food evenly without sticking to the surface. According to information from bhg.com, the surface of Teflon is coated with polytetrafluoroethylene, which provides non-stick and slippery properties when used.

Teflon care is different from regular pans. If not careful, the Teflon surface can be scratched, peeled, and damaged. In addition to reducing the visual appeal, a damaged Teflon surface will also cause food to stick when cooked. Many people choose to throw away damaged Teflon and buy a new one. However, there is actually a simple way to repair damaged Teflon.

This method was once discussed in a YouTube video by Otak Atik Kuliner. In addition to being easy, the ingredients needed are also easy to find. You only need to prepare a piece of sandpaper which is usually sold for around Rp2,000.

The first step is to wet the entire surface of the Teflon with plain water. After that, rub the surface of the Teflon using sandpaper.

"This water makes it easier to rub. We keep rubbing until the surface is evenly white," he explained, as quoted by BrilioFood based on the Otak Atik Kuliner video, Tuesday (10/9).

Keep rubbing until the black layer is completely peeled off. After a few minutes of rubbing, the Teflon surface will look perfectly white.

"The result is white and when touched, the surface feels smooth," he said.

Even though it is clean, do not cook on it immediately. Heat the Teflon on the stove for a few minutes until it is really hot.

Once hot, add a generous amount of butter so the surface doesn't stick," he added.

Spread the butter all over the surface of the Teflon and wait a few minutes. Once it is deemed sufficient, the Teflon is ready to be used to cook various dishes, as the video owner did when cooking papeda on the Teflon.

"The result was successful, it wasn't sticky at all," said the video owner.
