Brilio.net - Rice is a staple food consumed every day, so many people choose to store rice stocks at home. Some even store rice in large quantities, up to sacks. The goal is so that rice can be taken at any time when needed. However, storing rice in large quantities has its own risks. If not stored properly, rice can be contaminated by weevils. Small weevils can easily enter the rice sack, and if left alone, the rice will turn yellow and smell musty.

To prevent this, a special trick is needed in storing rice in sacks. Some people usually add a few lime leaves to the rice. According to thespruce.com, lime leaves contain essential oils with a distinctive aroma that can repel insects, including fleas, from rice. However, besides lime leaves, there are other kitchen ingredients that have a similar function, namely soursop leaves. How to use soursop leaves to store rice was once shown by YouTube user Rumah Rakyat Channel. How to apply it?

As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Rumah Rakyat Channel on Monday (4/11), you don't need to bother opening the rice sacks one by one. Yes, because soursop leaves are simply placed outside the rice sack.

Then hold it using another rice sack on top. After that, put another soursop leaf on top of the rice sack. Do the same process until all the rice sacks are neatly arranged.

According to him, this way the stored rice will last longer. Yes, because the rice is protected from weevils.

"This can last up to two months if there are lice, it will become musty in just a week," he explained further.

To make it last longer, make sure you regularly replace the soursop leaves you use. Not when the soursop leaves dry out or turn brown, but only when the soursop leaves are destroyed.

"If you use dry soursop leaves, it's even better, the lice won't get in," he said.

How, the method is quite practical, right? Looking at the comments column of this video, many netizens have left various responses. On the other hand, this video has also been played more than 71,000 times.
