Brilio.net - Ayam katsu is known as a Japanese fried chicken dish that is crispy and delicious. This chicken dish has become a favorite among various groups. These breaded chicken pieces offer a tempting combination of textures, with a crispy outside and a juicy inside.
However, even though it looks delicious, many people experience obstacles when trying to make their own chicken katsu at home. The main challenge lies in the frying process, where often the outside of the chicken is burnt while the inside is still raw. This error generally occurs due to several factors, starting from the inaccurate oil temperature setting and frying duration which affect the final result of the chicken katsu.
In order to successfully make the perfect chicken katsu, there are several important tricks that need to be considered. An Instagram user @umahawak once shared the trick directly through one of the uploaded videos. As reported by BrilioFood on Monday (10/21), this trick tends to be easy to practice, you know.
Well, first of all, prepare a frying pan or teflon for frying. Make sure the frying tool is completely dry. After that, heat it first. Then pour a lot of oil into the pan.
Next, let the oil heat up over medium heat (but not too hot). If necessary, you can check the oil's heat by inserting the tip of a stick into the oil. If lots of bubbles appear, the oil is hot enough.
At that stage, immediately put in the chicken pieces that have been coated with flour. Make sure the chicken is completely submerged in the oil. After that, fry the chicken katsu with medium heat. When frying, avoid turning the chicken over because it can burn. Just turn it over once when the bottom is starting to crisp.
Now, if the chicken katsu has changed color to golden brown, drain it immediately. Place it in an oil drainer in a vertical position so that no oil pools in the middle of the chicken katsu. Then when the oil is gone, this chicken katsu can be cut into pieces to be served with white rice and salad.
Shortly after being cut, Instagram user @umahawak showed the inside of the fried chicken katsu. Although the outside is crispy, the inside of the chicken meat is still juicy, not dry, but still perfectly cooked. Guaranteed to taste delicious and soft when eaten.
Since it was uploaded on Thursday (10/17), the video about the trick of frying chicken katsu has been watched more than 11 thousand times.
