Brilio.net/en - Every year, the World Tapa Day takes place on June 16th in Spain and in 29 countries around the globe. This year is a little bit special since a few days ago, the Spanish Government, through his Minister of Culture, officially made a special demand to the UNESCO world heritage, in the immaterial category: to register the Spanish tapas as world gastronomic heritage.

This initiative was very welcome in the country. According to some national magazine and most likely in the hearts and souls of all Spaniards, tapas are the best ambassador of the Spanish culinary traditions in the world. Nowadays extremely popular, they can be found on all four corners of the earth. The richness of the tapas is only matched by their seemingly never-ending variety. According to the region, they will be prepared differently and with many various ingredients.

The conservative Spanish Newspaper La Razn even goes further in its praise for the global reputation of the tapas and says in a recent article: The Spanish tapas has overcome is local influence to acquire a universal dimension.
