Brilio.net - Gas stove burners often change color over time. Although the original color is golden yellow from brass, the stove burner can actually turn black and crusty. This color change is usually caused by the accumulation of food scraps, oil, and burnt gas residue, so that over time it sticks to the burner surface.

Although brass itself has good durability, dirt that sticks to it can damage the appearance and reduce the efficiency of the stove's combustion. The combustion process that occurs every time the stove is used can produce carbon that sticks to the burner surface. This carbon is what causes the brass color on the burner to darken or turn black.

In addition, using a burner with too much or uneven heat can also accelerate discoloration, because imperfect combustion produces more residue. To restore the burner's original golden yellow color, regular maintenance and cleaning are essential.

You can use the ingredients used by Instagram user @nurulkomariah3112. In one of the videos uploaded, she admitted to only using two simple ingredients to help remove the remaining crust even without boiling. As reported by BrilioFood on Wednesday (18/12), the simple ingredients in question are dishwashing soap and citric acid.

These two ingredients can be very effective in dissolving stubborn crust on the stove burner. Therefore, its appearance will also change to bright yellow after cleaning. Well, the way to clean it is also very practical.

You just need to put the gas stove burner into the bowl. After that, add 1 tbsp of citric acid and enough dish soap. Then pour enough water until the stove burner is submerged.

Once done, stir all the ingredients and soak the stove burner for just 1 hour. Well, this process will make the black stains on the stove burner fall off by themselves. Then after soaking, rub it using your hands or a brush until clean, then rinse with water. In one rinse, the original appearance of the bright yellow burner will appear.

In the video, Instagram user @nurulkomariah3112 immediately shows a gas stove burner that has been cleaned. Who would have thought that the burner that was previously very black could become bright yellow and shiny. Well, before reinstalling it, make sure the burner has been wiped and dried until there is no dirt left.

Soaking the gas stove burner in citric acid and dish soap can make the black stains fade, because the properties of citric acid are effective in dissolving minerals and dirt that sticks. Citric acid works by breaking down calcium deposits and black carbon crust on the burner surface, so that stains become easier to lift.

Additionally, dish soap helps to soften any oils and grease that may be stuck on the burner, speeding up the cleaning process. The combination of these two ingredients creates a cleaning solution that works synergistically, removing black spots and dirt trapped in the brass material. The dish soap emulsifies the dirt, while the citric acid removes stubborn scale, leaving the burner cleaner and looking like new.
