Brilio.net - Es cendol dawet is a typical Indonesian drink that is widely loved by lovers of sweet and cold drinks. This drink has a perfect combination of flavors from savory coconut milk and legit palm sugar or brown sugar. Cendol as the main ingredient is an important component that gives this drink its distinctive character.
The process of making cendol involves a mixture of terrace flour and pandan as the main ingredients. The round, elongated shape of cendol provides a delicious texture sensation when eaten. Many people are reluctant to make cendol at home because the process is considered complicated and requires special molds.
An alternative to making cendol without a special mold can be done using a piping bag or triangular plastic. There is also a simpler way by utilizing kitchen utensils available at home. This practical method of making cendol was shared by a netizen named Mama Ci via social media.
"The results are not as beautiful as using a tool, but this is highly recommended," he said, quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube Mama Ci Memasak, Monday (28/10).
First, mix 90 grams of rice flour, 70 grams of tapioca flour, and 1 tsp of salt on a non-stick pan. All of these ingredients can be stirred first. Make sure not to turn on the heat because the ingredients must be mixed first before being heated. Next, pour in 250 ml of pandan juice. Stir until evenly mixed. Once smooth, add 500 ml of water and stir again.

If all the ingredients have been stirred and it is ensured that there is no lumpy flour, then it can be cooked over medium heat while continuing to stir. Later, the dough will thicken and clump. Make sure the dough continues to be stirred so that the bottom does not burn. Cook until the dough is cooked and bubbling, then the stove can be turned off.

After that, prepare a bowl filled with boiled water and some ice cubes. Also prepare a sieve or scoop with round holes to print the cendol dough. To print it, just take a spoonful of dough, place it on the sieve, then press the dough using a spoon until it comes out of the sieve into the ice water.
"If you use a triangular plastic, the mixture is hot, you have to spray it immediately and it's also one by one, so it takes longer, in my opinion using this (strainer) is more recommended. Tips so that you don't get tired of holding the ladle, use a bowl that is smaller than the ladle underneath, so the ladle is simply placed on top of the bowl and we just press the top part, it's not tiring at all. I do this so that the results underneath can be seen," explained Mama Ci.
