Brilio.net - Refrigerator maintenance is an important aspect in maintaining household appliances. Over time, the refrigerator can experience damage to various components, including the door rubber which has a vital function.

Refrigerator door seals play an important role in various things, such as uniting the door with the refrigerator body, dampening the sound when the door is closed, preventing air exchange between the inside and outside of the refrigerator, and maintaining a cold temperature inside the refrigerator.

Damage to the refrigerator door rubber can affect the temperature inside the refrigerator. A common problem is that the rubber becomes stiff and hard as the refrigerator ages. As a result, the refrigerator door cannot close tightly, which has an impact on reducing cooling efficiency. This problem is common to many refrigerator users, including a YouTube user named Yos Channel.

"This time I checked the refrigerator door rubber which was not tight enough, which made the refrigerator less cold, there was something on the top of the rubber that was not tight enough," said Yos Yos Channel, quoted by BrilioFood on Monday (29/5).

Some people try to fix this problem themselves without the help of a technician, by using the method of soaking the rubber in hot water. This technique aims to soften the rubber texture again. Although this method is quite effective, the process of removing and reinstalling the refrigerator rubber can be a complicated task for some people.

This is what then made YouTube user Yos Channel use another trick. Instead of relying on hot water, he tends to choose another more practical tool, namely a lighter. So, he uses the heat of the fire to soften the refrigerator rubber without having to remove it from the refrigerator door.

To be safer, it is better to turn off the refrigerator first. Then heat the refrigerator rubber with a lighter. Simply sweep the lighter slowly over the stiff and hard rubber part. This process must be done quickly so that the rubber does not melt.

Well, if it has been heated for a while, press the rubber to make it softer. Then repeat the process of heating and pressing the refrigerator rubber several times. In the video, YouTube user Yos Channel repeats the same method up to 5-6 times while occasionally checking its tightness by closing the refrigerator door. If the rubber and the refrigerator body are perfectly attached, it means that the rubber is flexible and back to its original state.
