Brilio.net - Gas cylinders are known as stove fuel which can produce fire and support various purposes, such as cooking, water heating and other household needs. Usually, gas cylinders are made of metal or composite materials that are sturdy and resistant to the high pressure of the gas inside. Gas cylinders sold on the market generally have various sizes and capacities, depending on the type of gas being stored and the needs for its use.

Please note that it is very important to pay attention to the safety of using gas cylinders , considering that the gas stored in the cylinders is flammable and potentially dangerous. Moreover, gas cylinders that have just been replaced sometimes experience leaks. If not treated immediately, of course the gas that comes out or leaks can be dangerous.

To overcome gas cylinder leaks, a number of people usually patch the device with an old tire. However, there are also those who wrap rubber bands around the red seal of the gas cylinder. Unfortunately, in some cases, this method is sometimes not effective enough to close gas leaks.

If you are one of them, there is no need to worry, there are other tricks you can do to quickly deal with gas cylinder leaks. This trick was shared by TikTok user @gamal_computer. Through one of the uploaded videos, he admitted that he only relied on one tool.

A quick trick to deal with gas cylinder leaks with just 1 tool.

Reported by BrilioFood from the TikTok account @gamal_computer on Monday (15/4), the tool in question is sewing thread. So, this sewing thread will be used to seal gas cylinder leaks. That way, the gas will flow smoothly to the regulator and produce maximum fire.

To use it, simply wrap this thread around the middle of the red seal (the rubber that comes with the gas cylinder). For maximum results, it is best to make thick ties or coils of up to 20-30 ties. Or it could be so that gas doesn't leak from the gap.

After wrapping the thread, replace the red seal in the gas cylinder hole. Then also install the regulator as usual. So, if there is no hissing sound coming out, it means the gas is no longer leaking and is safe to use. You can turn on the stove and check the fire that comes out.

"The hiss of gas will usually disappear because it's stuck in the sewing thread. If the gas doesn't flow to the gas stove, hit the regulator with your hand," said TikTok @gamal_computer.

How to stop a gas cylinder leak.

Stopping gas cylinder leaks is a very important step for your safety and the surrounding environment. The following are steps you can take to stop gas cylinder leaks.

1. Turn off the ignition source.

If there is a fire around the leak area, immediately extinguish the fire. Do not try to put out the fire if the leak occurs near an open flame source.

2. Close the gas valve.

Turn off the gas flow by turning the gas cylinder pressure control valve clockwise. Make sure the valve loop is completely closed.

3. Turn off electrical devices.

Turn off electrical devices around the leak area to avoid sparks that could cause a fire.

4. Ventilate the area.

Make sure the area around the leak is well ventilated to prevent dangerous gas accumulation.

5. Avoid sources of fire.

Keep ignition sources and objects that can cause sparks away from the leak area.

6. Do not use cell phones or electronic devices.

Avoid using cell phones or electronic devices in the leak area because electrical sparks can cause a fire.

7. Check for leaks.

Use soap or a soapy water solution to check whether there is still a gas leak by looking for bubbles in the suspected area.

8. Contact the authorities.

Immediately contact authorities, such as the fire department or gas provider, to help deal with the gas leak safely.

9. Do not use electrical equipment.

Avoid using electrical equipment around the leak area as this can cause dangerous sparks.
