Brilio.net - Stone mortars are still the choice of many people even though there are modern tools for grinding spices, because the results are considered more delicious. However, stone mortars often face problems such as cracks, sandy surfaces, and mold. Mold usually appears from the remaining spices that stick and are not immediately cleaned, causing annoying white spots.

Don't worry if you experience this, there is an easy way to remove mold from a stone mortar that you can try at home. YouTube user Djamoe djoe shared a tutorial on how to clean a moldy stone mortar in one of his videos, showing the surface of the mortar covered in white spots.

"This is what a moldy mortar or pestle looks like, Mom," he said as reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Djamoe djoe, Wednesday (4/12).

The first step is to wash the stone mortar in the same way as washing regular dishes. Scrub the surface using a brush and then rinse until clean.

"Use a brush or wire, so that it is clean right down to the cavities," he explained further.

After washing it clean, lift and drain the stone mortar. Store the stone mortar on a cloth or tissue to collect the water from the stone mortar. Wait a few moments until the entire surface of the mortar is slightly dry.

Once the entire surface is slightly dry, heat the mortar on the stove. Turn the mortar over and heat it using low heat.

"Heat the mortar on the stove for a few minutes, maybe 3 minutes from both sides," explained the account owner.

Once both sides of the stone mortar have been heated on the stove, remove it. Once the entire surface of the mortar has cooled down, wash it immediately using regular dish soap.

Scrub using a brush or wire, then rinse the stone mortar. After making sure it is completely clean, rinse again and drain the stone mortar. In this way, the surface of the stone mortar that was previously full of white spots becomes clean again. For maximum results, make sure you do this repeatedly, okay?

"It does have to be repeated often because it is porous and moist. So it can't be done just once. Good luck," he concluded.

How, quite easy to practice, right?
