Brilio.net - Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) , was officially appointed as Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) by President Jokowi on Wednesday, February 21 2024, at 11.00 WIB. This inauguration took place at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta.
This decision was taken after the previous ATR Minister, Hadi Tjahjanto, was also appointed simultaneously as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam). The vacancy in the position of Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs occurred after Mahfud MD resigned on Thursday 1 February 2024.
The son of the sixth Indonesian president started his political career by running as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta in 2017. Previously he was a member of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) who graduated from the Military Academy (Akmil) in 2000. Then in 2016, AHY decided to resign from TNI with his final rank as major.
