Brilio.net - Coloring your hair has become a common thing that many people do to improve their appearance. In the hair coloring process, usually someone will bleach it first so that the resulting color is more intense.

Hair bleaching itself is an attempt to remove the original color of hair, thanks to the hydrogen peroxide content in bleaching products. Well, this hydrogen peroxidant can remove pigmentation (melanin) in the hair. As a result, the hair looks yellowish white.

Even so, it turns out that bleaching hair can have a bad impact on your health. Especially for those of you who have sensitive skin, the risk of experiencing skin irritation will be greater. In line with this, it turns out that there was a case that went viral on TikTok social media regarding the bad effects after using hair bleaching.

This case was experienced by a TikTok user with the account name @ayamg0y3ng. In the uploaded video, the girl known as Renatha Devina Nathania experienced vitiligo after using bleaching products on her hair.

Quoted from the Mayo Clinic, vitiligo is a disease that causes loss of original skin color, characterized by the appearance of irregular white patches. The discolored areas usually get bigger over time. Vitiligo can appear at any age, but usually appears before the age of 30 years.

Through the upload which lasted 4 minutes 29 seconds, Renatha suspected that it all started with the hair bleaching she used. In December 2021, Renatha said that at that time she wanted to dye her hair red. Before dyeing his hair, he bleached it twice first.

Renatha admitted that at that time the bleaching fluid she used got on the skin of her forehead. However, he did not immediately clean the bleaching liquid from his facial skin.

"At that time, the bleach got on my forehead, but it wasn't cleaned straight away. Two white dots initially appeared on my forehead, at first they were only small. But because of the wrong medicine, they spread," said Renatha, as reported by briliobeauty.net from the TikTok account. -, Tuesday (18/6).

Renatha admitted that she used the wrong medicine when trying to treat the white spot on her forehead. This actually makes the white spots spread. As a result, the left side of his forehead, eyebrows, and the front of his hair are pale white.

Not only that, to answer netizens' questions about the vitiligo he was experiencing, he explained that he did not feel pain in that area. It's just that he felt a warm sensation when using a special cream or medicine to treat the vitiligo he was experiencing.

"Some people also ask whether it hurts or not. Actually, no, there's no pain or anything. At least when I use medicine, medicine like cream, sometimes it feels like it's warm like that," explained Renatha.

Finally, Renatha revealed that she was undergoing treatment to restore her skin color. He hopes that his efforts in carrying out treatment with this skin care will produce the best results.

So, learning from Renatha's case, so that the same thing doesn't happen, you should do a patch test first before using hair bleaching products or other dyes. This is done to find out whether the coloring product is safe or not for your skin.

You can do this patch test by rubbing it on the area behind the ear for a few moments. If nothing happens, it means that the hair dye is safe for you to use.
