Brilio.net - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI released a new policy regarding changes to the closing deadline for BRI dormant accounts. A dormant account is an account that the customer has never used for transactions within a certain time. BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi revealed that this new policy aims to improve the quality of the Company's services to customers.
"This rule for changing to passive applies to BRI accounts that have not transacted for 180 days without considering the minimum balance," said Hendy, quoted by brilio.net from a press release, Monday (1/7).
This policy will be effective on August 1 2024. Furthermore, BRI has implemented changes to the days to dormant (passive) BRI Simpedes Savings and BRI Britama Savings to 180 days regardless of the customer's nominal balance.
This means that customers who do not make transactions, including credit and debit, apart from savings and card admin fees for 180 days, will have their account status changed to dormant (passive). Apart from that, for BRI Savings, accounts with passive (dormant) status if there are no transactions for 180 days and below the minimum balance provisions will be closed automatically.
If a customer experiences a dormant account, BRI has also prepared a solution so as not to disrupt the customer's various financial transactions.
"If the account changes status to passive (dormant), customers can still re-activate the account by coming to the nearest BRI work unit. "Don't forget to bring your identity and proof of account ownership when re-activating your account," added Hendy.
