At this event, Mikael Jasin shared his journey while participating in the 2024 World Barista Championship in Busan, South Korea to becoming a world-class barista.

Mikael revealed that becoming a world-class barista is not a short journey. To put it in perspective, Mikael's struggle to become world champion is a marathon, not a sprint. This long journey requires passing checkpoint after checkpoint to reach the finish line, namely from local, national and international championships.

Mikael said that coffee culture in Indonesia has increasingly developed in recent years. According to him, drinking coffee is not only a necessity, but has become a lifestyle.

"The presence of The Neighborhood 1.0 can be a forum for collaboration between various communities to learn about coffee and provide a unique coffee experience," said Mikael Jasin.

Apart from meet and greet, the event continued with a cupping session, where participants could gain various experiences. Starting from exploring unique coffee flavors, buying high quality coffee beans to enjoy at home, to deepening their knowledge about coffee through the available classes.

Apart from that, there was a private omakase session with Mikael Jasin. In this session, Mikael presented special creations from three coffee blends made with premium Colombian Aji Bourbon beans. In the world of coffee, baristas who choose this serving style prepare coffee according to the customer's personal preferences. Starting from selecting the beans, roasting them to a special level of maturity, to mixing the coffee beans served, it will be adjusted to the customer's taste.
