23 Juni 2016 12:43Brilio.net/en - Most of us are raised to see meaningful shapes in the clouds, and our young imagination gave us a hare, a horse or a mans face. So its no wonder when we grow up and see electrical outlets look like little surprised faces, or a pair of eyes in our wooden cupboard.
Its easy to relate those shapes and faces in inanimate objects with ghosts or paranormal things. But there are actually a scientific reason to explain why we think we see those human-like figures. Its due to pareidolia, a psychological phenomenon wherein the human mind perceives a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists.
Most people have hardly ever heard about pareidolia, but nearly everyone has experienced it. Its a game of perception where our brain takes a shortcut to perceive certain patterns as a face.
