What could be more amazing than sheltering over 200 dogs for 26 years?!

Brilio.net/en - 61-year old Jung Myoung Sook comes from South Korea. Her passion for dogs has simply been remarkable. Believe it or not, this woman has been sheltering over 200 dogs in Asan, South Korea for 26 years! Dogs may be an increasingly common pet amongst Korean people, but who would ever imagine coming across someone looking after hundreds of them?

Jung's motive behind this is simple - to protect their welfare. Nowadays, there are plenty of stray dogs exploring the streets of Korea. As a result, their lives are threatened in many ways. One of those ways, as explained by Jung, is that they could be taken and sold to dog meat farms or even restaurants.

Today, not only does she devote her time and effort in sheltering dogs, but she's always on the lookout to buy those ones who are at risk of being sold. The rest is history. Recent data suggests that over 80,000 stray animals were sent to public shelters in the year 2014, mostly comprising of dogs and cats.

Jung's passion and dedication for this has caught the attention of many. Families, friends and strangers have actively been supporting her by donating food, milk and money to support this initiative. Park Hye-Soon, for example, has been supplying the dogs with leftover pork from his restaurant for four years now.

Despite being financially limited herself, Jung does not let anything get into her way when it comes to raising dogs and protecting their rights. Fascinating, isn't it?
