Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad recently visited the home of Joko Widodo , or Jokowi, in Solo, Central Java. The meeting took place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. In a warm atmosphere, Iriana Jokowi could not contain her curiosity about Mahathir's health secrets at the age of 100.

"Mrs. Jokowi (Iriana) asked, 'Tun Mahathir is already 100 years old, what is his recipe for staying fit?'" said Jokowi.

In the discussion, Jokowi also asked whether there were any restrictions on his diet.

"He said there are no dietary restrictions," explained Jokowi.

"In addition, Mahathir's secret to fitness is to think positively and stay productive. I agree with all of that!" Jokowi continued.

Jokowi picked up Mahathir at Adi Soemarmo Airport, Boyolali, and the two went straight to Jokowi's residence. They arrived at the house at around 11.50 WIB and were greeted by Iriana who was already waiting.

The atmosphere of the meeting was very friendly. After chatting, Jokowi invited Mahathir and his daughter to the dining room, where various snacks had been prepared to entertain the guests of honor.

Among the dishes are onde-onde and Solo sausage, as well as hot tea and water. The atmosphere is getting warmer with the strains of keroncong music played live by three musicians.

Special treat for Mahathir

The meeting between Mahathir and Jokowi lasted about two hours. Jokowi stated that Mahathir only stopped by to visit. He admitted to having a very close relationship with Mahathir, both when he served as Governor of Jakarta and President.

"He really appreciates Indonesia's achievements in producing food for its 280 million people. In Malaysia, there is currently an increase in food prices, especially rice, and he asked me about it," Jokowi added.

On that occasion, Mahathir also expressed his admiration for development in Indonesia. He highlighted Indonesia's ability to meet the food needs of its nearly 300 million people.

"I am amazed because even though Indonesia has a very large population, in terms of food, rice is sufficient. This is an achievement to be proud of," he said.

When asked if there was a special message for Jokowi, Mahathir said there was none. "Nothing, nothing, nothing related to politics," he said.

Mahathir also stressed the importance of increasing cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia. "Many Indonesian products are imported to Malaysia, and vice versa, Malaysia also has products that can be imported to Indonesia," he concluded.

While in Solo, Mahathir also visited several places, including Batik Danarhadi, City Hall, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
