Brilio.net - A student in Gorontalo City, named Nazli Putri Pratomo (20), has to deal with the law. You could say, women are too in love with their ex-boyfriends. He was arrested by the police for embezzling dozens of friends' laptops to finance his ex-girlfriend's online gambling.
Now, the student has been named a suspect. He has also been detained at the Dungingi Police, Gorontalo City Police since July 8 2024.
"The perpetrator has been named a suspect," said Gorontalo Police Chief, Police Commissioner Dr. Ade Permana when holding a press release on Monday (22/7).
This case was revealed when one of the victims reported to the Gorontalo Police that his laptop had been pawned by Nazli. The police then carried out an investigation. As a result, it turned out that there was not just one victim, but 11 people.

Nazli was then arrested on Jalan Melon, Huangobotu Village, Dungingi District, Gorontalo City on Saturday (6/7). In his action, the perpetrator pretended to borrow his friend's laptop to do his college assignments.
"The motive is that the suspect borrowed (a laptop) from some of his college friends. On the grounds that this laptop was used to work on unfinished college assignments," said Ade.
"From the development results, there were 11 victims," he continued.
AKB Ade further said that the perpetrator was determined to pawn his friend's laptop for personal gain. During interrogation, Nazli admitted that she was forced to pawn a friend's laptop at the pressure of her ex-boyfriend.
When she pawned her friend's laptop, Nazli was able to get IDR 2-3 million and the amount of money collected reached IDR 60 million. Nazli has been carrying out his actions from May to July 2024.
"There was Rp. 2 million, there was Rp. 3 million, so the total collected was Rp. 60 million. That's approximately from May to July 2024, he carried out an action like this," said Ade.

All the money from pawning the laptop was then handed over to his ex-girlfriend. The money was used to have fun with his friends, pay off debts and gamble on slots .
"He said he was pressured by his ex-girlfriend. The money he pawned on the laptop was used by his girlfriend to have fun and pay off debts and even slot gambling (online gambling)," explained Ade.
KBP Ade said that his party was still investigating the perpetrator's statement. Now, to take responsibility for his actions, Nazli has been charged under Article 372 Jo 64 of the Criminal Code with the threat of 4 years in prison.
"We are still investigating the information from the NPP, while to be held accountable for his actions, the NPP was charged under Article 372 Jo 64 of the Criminal Code with the threat of 4 years in prison," he said.
