Brilio.net - Marriage is a sacred moment that always brings a unique story for each couple. This time, news of a wedding with a dowry of almost one billion rupiah came from a couple from Lamongan and Gresik, East Java.
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, Syaiful Naziq (44), a self-employed person from Lamongan, officially married Aminatus Sholikah (32), an employee of the Gresik Regency Government. Their marriage attracted attention because the dowry given by Syaiful to Aminatus was of fantastic value, namely cash of Rp999,999,999 or Rp1 billion minus one rupiah.
The wedding moment was simple, but the meaning behind it was very deep. Not only about the extraordinary nominal dowry, but also the story of the struggle of the two in building a relationship that finally landed at the altar.
The marriage contract of the two was held in Sarirejo District, Lamongan Regency. Although it was held simply and only attended by family and close relatives, the sacred moment was still solemn. The ijab kabul procession also involved a judge, in accordance with the request submitted by the bride.

Uniquely, their marriage contract took place on the 19th, which coincided with the 19th day of the Ramadan fast. The number 19 apparently has a special meaning for this couple, especially for Aminatus Sholikah.
Aminatus revealed that the nominal dowry actually just crossed her mind when she was talking to her future husband. She mentioned the figure spontaneously and without any rejection from Syaiful Naziq.
She recalled the moment when Syaiful immediately agreed to the amount she mentioned. According to her, the decision was like a convenience from Allah that made their marriage process easier.
"Honestly, when I was asked about the dowry, I answered spontaneously, I immediately showed the nominal amount on my iPhone calculator and without protest, my husband immediately agreed, okay, no problem, I didn't learn to read the denominator of the number," said Aminatus Sholikah, quoted by brilio.net from TikTok @putriypetir, Sunday (23/3).
For Aminatus, the number 9 that dominates their dowry has its own meaning. She feels that the number holds a beautiful philosophy and is also a sign of happiness in her life.

In addition to the number 19 which coincides with a special day, the number 9 is also considered a symbol of glory. He feels grateful for everything he has gone through until finally arriving at this sacred moment.
"I fasted for 19 days and I got married on the 19th with a dowry of 999,999,999, which is a very beautiful number, O Allah. Apart from being beautiful, 9 is also a symbol of glory. Masya Allah, thank you to myself who has been great in enduring and bringing me this far," he continued.
Syaiful Naziq also added the reason for giving such a large dowry to Aminatus. According to him, the dowry value was a form of appreciation for all his wife's life struggles, including when studying to get a master's degree.
Aminatus explained that her husband felt that he married her not only as a life partner. There was a long struggle that Syaiful also 'married', which made the man want to make up for all the tiredness and tears he had ever felt.

"Oh yeah, my husband also said that it would be a shame for a woman like me to be given a small dowry because it wasn't just about marrying me. 'I married all your hard work and struggle to achieve that master's degree so that I would be the one to atone for all your hardships, sadness and tears at that time,' said my husband, guys. I hope you all have more luck than this," said Aminatus.
Despite the splendor of the dowry, their wedding remained simple and intimate. There was no big party or other luxury displayed, other than gratitude for the legitimacy of their marriage bond.
For Syaiful and Aminatus, a large dowry is not just a material symbol. They interpret the value as a form of sincerity and seriousness to build a family that is sakinah, mawaddah, and warahmah.
