Brilio.net/en - International Women's Day is an event that is celebrated every year on March 8th. It is aimed at recognizing the achievements of women across the globe, specifically in their social, economic, cultural and political sectors. This year, the fundamental objective is to establish global gender parity so as to ensure that future for girls is always bright, equal, secure and empowering. Plenty of collaborative efforts are showcased each year to strengthen the rights of women. This year, the Save the Children organization in Australia paid tributes to five deserving women who have inspired the world in their own ways, especially targeted at those who save childrens lives.
1. Eglantyne Jebb

Eglantyne Jebb found Save the Children organization in 1919. Back then, she outlined the five fundamental rights that children should have and believes that no child should face hardships in life. Her contribution has shaped the global vision and values of the foundation today.
2. Joy Reid (Aunty Joy)

Joy Reid created the Save the Childrens Early Childhood Care and Development Program in South Australia. She established a kindergarten for Aboriginal children in the region of Ceduna that has helped plenty of Aboriginal families in the country in the education sector.
3. Muzoon Almellehan

Muzoon is Malala of Syria who stood up against child marriages in the country. She and her family successfully fled away from Syria and they are now based in Newcastle, England. She is still pursuing the battle against child marriage.
4. Karen Flanagan

Karen Flanagan is the leader of Save the Childrens Child Protection in Southeast Asia. It is aimed to alleviate the growing problem of child exploitation which includes sexual abuse. She founded Melbournes first voluntary treatment program for young perpetrators of sexual abuse.
5. Mukti

Mukti is a Social Worker of Save the Children organization. She builds awareness towards female sex workers and their children on risks to children and better ways to protect them from harm. She is extremely grateful to be a part of this foundation, claiming that her dream has come true.
