Brilio.net/en - Usually when youre meandering up near the clouds, people tell you to not look down. But for the more curious and adventurous souls, the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon in the Hunan Province of China will be a place where you cant keep your eyes off the ground. The ground being a 430-metre long glass bottom bridge, with a clear view of the rocky scenery below.

With a view of the 300-metre valley below, its not for the faint of heart. Isreali architect Haim Dotan is the mastermind behind the worlds longest and tallest glass bottom bridge, that will soon host the worlds largest bungee jump, and even serve as a runway for fashion shows.

At 8-meters wide, the bridge can take 800 people at a time, but has for the time being been restricted to a maximum of 8,000 a day.

Zhangjiajie is a popular tourist destination for locals and foreigners alike, and the lush and dramatic scenery was said to inspire the fictional landscape of Baz Luhrmann's masterpiece Avatar.

While glass bridges and viewing points are gaining popularity, the trust has been slow to build. Especially after cracks appeared in the mountainside glass walkway in Yuntaishan Scenic Park, in Chinas central Henan province last October. Chicagos iconic Willis Tower showed signs of cracks this past May, but officials claim that visitors were never in any real danger.
