Brilio.net - Tea is one of the most frequently served beverages , especially when entertaining guests. During the fasting month, tea is even the main choice for breaking the fast because of its sweet and refreshing taste.
Over time, cups or glasses that are often used to serve tea will turn brownish and dull. These stains are often difficult to clean, even after washing with soap as usual.
The stains that appear on the glass are caused by tannins, which are natural compounds that give tea its distinctive flavor. If left too long, these stains will build up, making the glass look cloudy and unsightly.
Some people may choose to use chemical cleaning fluids to remove the stains. However, there is an easier, cheaper, and certainly safer way by utilizing kitchen ingredients that are already available at home.
A Facebook user named Nhurul Qamariah shared a simple trick that can make glass glasses shiny again like new. She showed an effective way to clean stubborn tea stains with simple ingredients that are easy to find.
"Have a dirty used tea glass like this? Put it in a container, 1 spoon of citric acid," he said in a video quoted by brilio.net from Facebook nhurul.qamariah, Tuesday (4/3).

Citric acid is known to contain ingredients that can break down crust and stains that stick to the glass surface. Its acidic properties work to dissolve tannin residue from tea, making stains easier to clean without having to scrub too hard.
In addition to citric acid, another additional ingredient used is dish soap. The combination of these two ingredients makes the cleaning process easier, especially in removing oil and dirt residue that sticks.
"Then add 1 spoon of dishwashing soap, then rinse with hot water to dissolve the citric acid," he explained further.

The glass full of tea crust is then placed into the solution and turned over so that the entire surface is exposed to the cleaning fluid. After soaking for a few minutes, the stains that stick can be easily removed by simply rubbing gently.
"Put the dirty glass in, turn it over, soak it for a few minutes, then rub it," he explained.

After the soaking and scrubbing process, the tea stains that stuck to the glass began to fade. The glass that previously looked dull slowly became clean and clear again.
"The used tea cups are clean again!" he said.

This way, the glass will be clear again without the need for extra effort. To prevent stains from building up again, make it a habit to wash the glass immediately after use and occasionally soak it in a citric solution to keep it clean.
Cleaning tea stains on glasses is no longer a hassle thanks to this simple trick. Good luck, hopefully your favorite glasses will be shiny again like new!
