This is an ancient religion recognized by indigenous Sundanese in West Java. The Buhun religion has a number of branches, among them Sunda Wiwitan and Madrais, focusing theirworship on the grand things done by their ancestors in the past as well as on the one almighty God they call Sang Hyang Kersa. The followers of Buhun are mostly the Kanekes people, also called the Baduy people of Banten, which used to be a part of the West Java province before 2000. They live a secluded life and preserve their philosophy from the outside world, allowing no one from the modern world to enter their village. This can be found in several regions in West Java, including Kampung Naga in Cirebon and in Bekasi.

Approximately 100,000 people follow this belief, whichmakes Buhun one of the largest ancient religions today.
