Brilio.net/en - The mid-90s crisis and the simultaneous rise of the computer graphics era have made Marcello Barenghi decided to stop drawing, as he thought that it was the end of the traditional illustration. He continued to study instead, graduated in Architecture and passed the Italian professional exam.
But it was in 2013 that these life-changing drawing videos on YouTube inspired the Italian artist to reach for those pencils yet again and rediscover his passion. It was 20 years after quitting, and a brand new adventure began.
Using only the ordinary coloured pencils, sometimes with some help from watercolours, oils and acrylics, he turned dozens of everyday things into hyperrealistic illustrations that blew everybodys mind. Here are some of them:
1. The glass is unbelievably realistic
2. These gummy bears are so cute, arent they?
3. See how he did it:
4. Breakfast, anyone?
5. This oil and acrylic painting of an empty coke bottle is just perfect!
6. Okay, this is not an everyday thing, but doesnt this T-Rex with its sharp teeth makes you shiver?
7. And this is how he did it:
8. He only needs a set of coloured pencils to make this
9. And heres how he did it...
