A film on the life of poet and activist Widji Thukul titled Istirahatlah Kata-Katais set to premiere in theaters on January 19, 2017.

However, those attending the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival, which runs from November 28 to December 3, will be able to get a first look at the long awaited movie in a screening held as part of the annual program.

Directed by Yosep Anggi Noen, the movie will narrate Thukul's life, a big part of which was dedicated to critizing the Indonesian government until he went missing in 1998, along with a number of other youth activists.

It will star Gunawan Maryanto, Marissa Anitta, Melanie Subono, Eduwart Boang, Davy Yunan, and Arswendy Nasution, among others.
