The Indonesian National Team's match against Japan in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian Zone on Friday (11/15) ended in a 0-4 defeat for the Garuda team. However, the creativity of Indonesian supporters stole the attention and received praise from various parties, including supporters of the opposing team.
The La Grande Indonesia supporters group created an unforgettable moment through spectacular choreography depicting the fight between Gundala, an Indonesian superhero, against Godzilla, an icon from Japan. The choreography was displayed in the north stand of the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) complete with motivational messages that showed the spirit of never giving up.
Despite heavy rain pouring down on the stadium, the spirit of the supporters did not diminish in displaying the stunning choreography. The dedication of the Indonesian National Team supporters then went viral on social media and attracted the attention of international media.
Appreciation came from various parties, including supporters of the Japanese team who were impressed by the creativity of Indonesian fans. One of the Japanese supporter accounts on social media X even shared a photo of the choreography which then received a warm welcome from netizens.
"Yesterday's match between Japan and Indonesia featured Godzilla vs. Gundala (Indonesian hero) behind the goal at home. By morning, it was also a hot topic among Indonesians!" wrote the account @mitsutakak on X.
Apparently it takes extra effort and totality to create this big choreography with the characters Gundala vs Godzilla. What kind of effort did the supporters put into making it? Check out the portraits from various sources collected by brilio.net on Saturday (11/16).
Even when it rains, Godzilla's choreography of being punched by Gundala looks even cooler. No wonder it gets praise from foreign fans.
