Jakarta General Election Commission held a public display of ballot papers burning yesterday.

KPUD Jakarta symbolically burned a fraction of 22,444 flawed ballot papers and 24,184 extra ballot papers.

The incineration started at 4.30 p.m. at the commissions Jakarta office at Jl. Salemba Raya, Central Jakarta.

Representatives from Jakarta Police and Jakartas Election Supervisory Board were in attendance.

Head of KPUD Jakarta Sumarno said that the burning was done to prevent extra ballot papers being distributed illegally that might cause election fraud.
