Brilio.net - The use of cooking utensils is always a concern for many people, especially mothers who are busy in the kitchen. The reason is that choosing the wrong cooking utensils can risk causing health problems. For example, with Teflon, it is common knowledge that Teflon is easily scratched and is dangerous if used for cooking.

Teflon that already has scratches or chipped parts can contaminate food with chemicals such as PFOA (perfluoro octanoic acid) and PFAS (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances), especially if Teflon is heated to a temperature of 300 degrees Celsius and above. After investigating, these two chemicals have the risk of causing cancer if they enter the body.

Reporting from sfa.gov.sg, apart from cancer, substances called PFOA and PFAS are also known to be toxic to the body and have the risk of causing immune system dysfunction, hormonal disorders, and even decreased fertility.

Indeed, if only a few toxic particles enter the food, the risk of causing disease is likely to be small. However, no one can predict how many of these particles will mix with the cooking ingredients, right? It is better not to use Teflon whose coating has been scratched for cooking.

"It's more expensive, but it avoids peeling from chemicals," said the netizen who is familiarly called Aurelia.

Reporting from curated.com, apart from not being easily scratched and safer for your health, cooking utensils made from stainless steel are also more durable, you know.
