Brilio.net/en - Remember this scene?

It was in 2014 when 19-year-old Jessica Smith and the other Canterbury Christ Church University students were asked to reveal fun facts about themselves that no one else would guess. Much to all of her friends surprise, Jessica came with a secret shes kept her entire life: she was the smiling sun baby in the opening sequence of popular children TV show Teletubbies!

I thought I may as well tell them as Im going to be spending the next three years with them. My mother is really chuffed, she said.

I used to hide it but after a lot of encouragement from my friends at university, Ive gained the confidence to come out with it. I am the sun from Teletubbies. There have been quite a few people pretending to be the the sun but only I could tell you the real story, she added.

She was nine-months-old when she was selected to overlook Teletubbyland as Tinky-Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po had fun below. At the time, she was paid a mere 250 (roughly $390) and a box of toys for her contribution.

Jess, who lives in Chatham, Kent, South East England, was chosen for the show after her mother Anji Smith, 44, took her to the hospital to be weighed and health staff had been asked by Ragdoll Productions to find smiley babies.

Her furniture delivery dad Bill, 49, made her giggle by playing with a teddy bear behind the camera.

We didnt hear anything until we got a letter when she was 18 months old saying shed been picked. It was really weird seeing her on television, said mum Anji.

I remember watching Teletubbies and I used to laugh along with the sun but it was only when I got older that I understood it was me, Jess revealed.

As you probably have known, some media had speculated that a Laguna Beach cast member, also named Jessica Smith, was the woman behind the beaming sun smile. But the real baby sun who can share the details.

No one knew how big the show was going to be so we didnt get offered royalties, Jess told the Daily Mail. People told my mom that I should have gone into modeling but she thought it wasnt the right move to make as I was quite shy.

So what does she look like today?
