In a podcast with Andre Taulany and also Oki Rengga, Marshanda shared her views on the meaning of an independent woman. According to her, being independent means being able to face all challenges without complaining.
" Independent women are definitely independent, and they are more confident in themselves than anyone else in the world. Independent means when we have difficulties we don't complain, when we have challenges at work, in friendship, we also don't get annoyed easily, we have a strong mentality ," she explained as quoted from YouTube Taulany TV.

However, Marshanda also admits that being an independent woman has its challenges, especially in romantic relationships. She realizes the importance of maintaining a balance between her independence and the needs of a partner who wants to feel needed.
" But there are also challenges when being an independent woman, when finding a man to be a partner, how do we not become an independent woman who is too independent ," she said.
Ben Kasyafani's ex-wife also revealed her personal experience when she was in a relationship with a man. Her habit of doing everything herself had annoyed her ex. From there, she learned that men tend to want to feel needed in a relationship.
" I don't know why, but I used to be very independent, like lifting heavy things by myself, until my ex got annoyed, like 'this girl does everything by herself' ," he said.
" After a while I learned to read books, oh it turns out I shouldn't do that, I have to make men feel needed, I have to do something for men. After a while I slowly learned how to be a woman ," she added.
However, her independent nature actually makes some men afraid to approach her. Marshanda understands this and tries to learn to be a more "feminine" woman in the context of romantic relationships.

However, her strong independence also brought Marshanda into an unhealthy relationship. She shared her experience with an ex who was feminine and lazy at work.
" I actually got a guy who was really feminine, I had an ex who was feminine. So that really worried my friends ," said Marshanda.
But what confused Marshanda was that the man was lazy to work. According to Marshanda, her ex was indeed focused on pursuing his career.
" How can I say it, I also feel bad. Maybe he is still trying to become a more successful person in his career ," said Marshanda.
The 35-year-old woman said that her ex was lazy to be a proper or responsible man. Marshanda admitted that during the relationship, she was the one who always spent money. Whether it was just for food or other small things.
" But it's like he's lazy to work, so he's lazy to be a real man, he's really lazy. It's not that he can't, but I see him as having no desire to provide, for example, where we go, I'll pay, " he explained.
Oddly enough, Marshanda actually normalized it. Marshanda considered what she did to the man as a normal thing in a romantic relationship.
" The problem is I normalized the situation for the guy, but not for long ," concluded Marshanda.

Luckily, the relationship didn't last long. Marshanda finally decided to end the relationship because there was no positive change.
" It wasn't that long, less than a year (of breaking up) ," he explained.
Sienna's mother felt guilty for facilitating her ex's laziness. In the end, she did not support his career development or life.
" I felt like 'oh, I can't do this either', it was wrong for him, so I taught him the wrong thing ," he said.
