Sekar then went to meet Mak Ambar, the shaman who installed the 'penglaris' in his shop. However, it turned out that Mak Ambar had died.
Since then, the genie who has been helping him demands his life until Sekar is possessed every night. Their three children, namely Dani, Ratna, and Dodi, tried to get treatment, but this attempt actually threatened the lives of them, their families and the people around them.

The film Approaching Death is Hadrah Daeng Ratu's second horror film with Rapi Films. Daeng himself said that the pesugihan phenomenon is quite relatable among Indonesian society.
"This film was inspired by people we know, and indeed many people use bestsellers for restaurants to sell them. Like eating at a nice place but when you take it home the taste turns out to be just ordinary or you've been looking for a restaurant that says it's open but isn't meet," said the director of the film Approaching Death, Hadrah Daeng Ratu.
Hadrah also hopes that this film can entertain and make many people aware not to use best-selling products in their merchandise because of the terrible impact it can have.

The actor who plays Sekar in the film Approaching Death, Shareefa Daanish also expressed his impressions of playing in this film. According to Shareefa, this film not only presents the horror caused by pesugihan but also contains action scenes that are no less tense.
"Playing the role of Sekar is very challenging because there are many action scenes that require physical strength. So, this film is not only about local horror horrors, but there is action," said Shareefa Daanish.
Not only that, Shareefa also appeared with complete make-up and took about 2 hours to appear as Sekar. The combination of Shareefa's acting and appearance was successful in making the audience tense.

The actor who plays Ratna, Caitlin Halderman, also expressed her excitement when she joined the film Approaching Death. This actress, who was born in 2000, admitted that she was happy to be able to experience the experience of filming the horror film Approaching Death. According to Caitlin, this film has a good story line.
"I think this story is not only interesting, but the story line is really really good," said Caitlin.
Behind the horror caused by the pesugihan, the audience can also witness the complex and heart-touching story of the Sekar family drama. The theme of this film is also very close to Indonesian people who still use many best sellers.
Shareefa also hopes that people can enjoy this film and take a lesson from what Sekar did, that wrong methods must have consequences.
The film Before Death will be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting April 30 2024. Keep an eye on Rapi Films' social media channels, or contact the Publicity Team for the film Before Death for the latest information.
