Actress and singer Cinta Laura recently expressed her views on the star syndrome phenomenon that is often experienced by public figures. In a program hosted by Irfan Hakim and Tarra Budiman, she admitted that she had never experienced star syndrome despite already having a big name and success at a young age.
Cinta Laura then shared her opinion about the attitudes of several celebrities who tend to be excessive and often highlight their status in public. The Cinderella soap opera star revealed that she often sees excessive behavior among Indonesian public figures.
"I'm very grateful that I didn't experience that ( star syndrome ). This is not to put anyone down, but I often see public figures in our country who can bring 7 assistants to events. One carries a bag, one wears shoes, one holds something that has no function ," he said on the FYP program, quoted on Monday (4/11/2024).
Cinta Laura is confused about how someone can feel so special that they ignore the importance of simplicity in their behavior. For her, such behavior can create a negative image for artists in the eyes of the public.
"What makes me sad is that they feel like they are almost like God," added Cinta Laura.
The 31-year-old artist also explained that everyone, especially those in the public spotlight, should realize that their achievements are only a small part of a long life journey.
"I have another perspective. Even though I have many achievements, I feel that I am still a very small spec in this world, I still have to process and learn," said Cinta Laura.
Cinta Laura's statement has attracted a lot of attention and positive comments from netizens. "Cinta Laura's upbringing is good, independent, elegant, not cheesy," said one netizen. "The correct function of an assistant is to prepare all the needs of the artist, not bring this and that and more and more ... like belittling her job description," added another netizen.
