Brilio.net - Peggy Melati Sukma shared her story while fasting in New Zealand. After officially settling in the country with her husband, Reza Abdul Jabbar, she revealed the various challenges she had to face. One of the most noticeable was the drastic difference in climate compared to Indonesia.

The artist who is now better known as a preacher explained that the temperature in New Zealand can be very extreme, especially during winter. This forced her to adapt, especially in maintaining her diet during the month of Ramadan. Although the challenge was not easy, Peggy continued to carry out her fasting with enthusiasm.

Peggy said that during winter in New Zealand, the temperature can reach minus tens of degrees Celsius. According to her, the condition is quite challenging, although the cold temperature sometimes feels refreshing, it can make the body feel hungry faster.

Another challenge is maintaining a diet so that nutritional intake remains balanced during the fasting month. Peggy said that she tries to maintain her health by not skipping sahur. In her sahur menu, she always includes protein, warm drinks, vitamins, and herbs to keep her body fit.

"So the key is indeed like how Islam teaches us that sahur is a time full of blessings, don't skip sahur and sahur also contains protein, warm drinks, vitamins, herbs, so that in the 4 seasons, God willing, the body's condition is the same," said Peggy, quoted by brilio.net from Instagram @rumpi_ttv on Thursday (20/3).

During her stay in New Zealand, Peggy also admitted that she often missed the atmosphere of Indonesia, especially the warmth of the sun. She considered the tropical climate in Indonesia to be very different from the weather in New Zealand, even when entering summer.

Peggy said that the temperature in New Zealand during summer is quite low compared to Indonesia. She explained how rare it is to get a truly sunny day there.

"But there is sun in summer, but it's not every day. It's not every day and the summer is between 18-21 degrees," he said.

In addition to the climate differences, Peggy also had to adjust to living in an environment where Muslims are a minority. However, she feels lucky because she has a husband who is active in the Muslim community in New Zealand. Reza Abdul Jabbar is known to have an important role as the high priest there.

Peggy explained that after migrating, her main focus was preaching and devoting her life to religious activities. She shared how her life changed after migrating, especially living in a country with a small Muslim population.

"After truly migrating, my main activity and contribution in this life is to preach. I already understand what I am doing, especially since we live in a country where Islam is a minority and he is the leader of the New Zealand World of Imam, so here it is like a council of ulama," he said.

The changes she underwent also required her to quickly adapt to the rhythm of life in a new country. Peggy said that she tried to transform the way of preaching that was previously done in Indonesia so that it could be applied in New Zealand. According to her, this is part of her struggle to spread Islamic values.

Peggy emphasized the importance of the ability to adapt to a form of preaching that is different from before. She believes that all the processes she goes through are part of the mission entrusted to her.

"So yes, Bismillah, we must quickly follow that rhythm, the activities or activities of preaching in Indonesia in the previous form, that is what must be transformed into a new form," he added.

Now, Peggy Melati Sukma is not only known as an artist in Indonesia, but also active as a preacher in a foreign country. Her new life in New Zealand has become an inspiration for many people, especially Muslims living in minority countries. Her journey of migration and dedication in preaching show her commitment to continue spreading goodness, wherever she is.
