Brilio.net - Nisya Ahmad , known as the younger sister of famous artist Raffi Ahmad, was officially inaugurated as a member of the West Java DPRD on Monday (2/9). This inauguration was in the spotlight because Nisya was previously declared to have failed in the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg).
However, Nisya's inauguration apparently followed a legitimate procedure in accordance with applicable regulations. Her inauguration as a member of the West Java DPRD took place after Thoriqoh Nashrullah Fitriyah, an elected legislative candidate from the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Electoral District (Dapil) 2 of Bandung Regency, decided to resign.
In the last legislative election, Thoriqoh won more votes than Nisya, which was 58,495 votes, while Nisya won 50,422 votes. However, due to Thoriqoh's resignation, Nisya Ahmad was finally appointed to replace him based on the West Java KPU Decree Number 23 of 2024.

The Head of the Technical Division of the West Java KPU, Adi Saputro, emphasized that the inauguration of Nisya Ahmad as a member of the West Java DPRD was a legitimate step according to the rules.
"Yes (Nisya was inaugurated) because Mrs. Thoriqoh resigned as an elected legislative candidate. Her statement was that she just resigned," said Adi.
Thoriqoh's resignation was a personal decision related to internal political party affairs, so his position in the West Java DPRD was replaced by Nisya Ahmad.
Adi Saputro also explained further that Nisya was inaugurated not through the Interim Replacement (PAW) mechanism, but as a Replacement for the Elected Candidate.
"PAW is a replacement after being inaugurated. But if the elected legislative candidate has not been inaugurated (replacement of the elected candidate), Mrs. Thoriqoh resigns. If someone resigns, we invite the political party and the person who resigns," added Adi.

This signifies that the artist born in Bandung on October 17, 1990 has legally replaced Thoriqoh before he was officially inaugurated. In the context of the rules for replacing elected legislative candidates, Thoriqoh's resignation is a step that does not violate the rules.
Based on KPU Regulation Number 6 of 2024, replacement of elected legislative candidates is possible if the legislative candidate dies, resigns, does not meet the requirements, or there is a court decision that has permanent legal force.
"So if the elected legislative candidate dies, resigns, there is a court decision that has permanent legal force, and does not meet the requirements, he can be replaced by a replacement for the elected candidate. But if he has been inaugurated, then the replacement mechanism will be PAW," concluded Adi.

Nisya's inauguration as a member of the West Java DPRD is a real example of how KPU regulations can be implemented flexibly but still in accordance with existing regulations. Nisya herself admitted that she is ready to carry out this new task, even though the world of politics is something new to her.
"I have new obligations and responsibilities, hopefully I will be responsible and able to carry out new responsibilities," said Nisya enthusiastically.
With the inauguration process completed, Nisya is now awaiting further assignments from her party. Regarding specific tasks in the DPRD, this PAN politician fully submits to the party's decision. Thus, Nisya's first step in the world of politics has begun, and now she is ready to face new challenges in the West Java DPRD.
"Let's discuss it first, we'll see later where it fits, it's the same, what's important is that if you get a task, do it well," he concluded.
