The stabbing case of famous Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan , shocked many people. The incident took place on Thursday (16/1), early morning at his house located in Bandra, Mumbai. Saif suffered serious injuries from the attack and was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital for necessary medical treatment.
According to initial reports, an intruder managed to gain entry into the house and engaged in a physical confrontation with Saif. In the incident, Saif sustained six stab wounds, two of which were deep and one near his spine. The incident has raised concerns among his family, fans and the wider community.
Mumbai police acted swiftly by forming seven investigation teams to uncover the motive and perpetrators behind the attack. The investigation is still ongoing, while the family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
The incident occurred at 2:30 am, when an unidentified intruder entered Saif's house in a posh area of Mumbai. According to a police statement, the intruder was in Saif's son's room before confronting the actor.
Saif's PR team confirmed that it was a botched attempted theft. They asked the media and fans to be patient and respect the family's privacy. Saif and Kareena Kapoor's children were reportedly safe at the time of the incident.
After the attack, Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital and arrived at around 3:30 a.m. His son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, acted quickly to get his father medical attention.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani of Lilavati Hospital said Saif had six stab wounds, including one near the spine. The medical team treating Saif included a neurosurgeon, a plastic surgeon, and an anesthesiologist.
Saif's condition is reportedly stable although he will need a long recovery. "Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and his condition is improving. He is currently in the recovery phase and doctors are monitoring his progress," Saif's team said on Thursday afternoon local time.
Mumbai police immediately launched an investigation after the incident. They formed seven investigation teams that focused on various aspects of the case, including CCTV analysis and forensics.
One of the early findings suggests that the perpetrator may have known one of the staff at Saif's house. CCTV analysis indicates that no stranger entered through the main gate, so it is likely that the perpetrator was already in the building.
Saif's wife Kareena Kapoor issued an official statement to reassure fans, confirming that their children, Taimur and Jeh, were safe during the incident.
Saif's eldest son Ibrahim Ali Khan was one of the most alert in handling the emergency situation. He reportedly rushed Saif to the hospital less than an hour after the incident occurred.
Celebrities and public figures, including AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal and actor Jr. NTR, expressed their condolences, wished Saif a speedy recovery and demanded increased security for prominent figures.
