Brilio.net - Former vocalist of the band Soegi Bornean, Fanny Soegi, openly expressed her disappointment with the management of the Semarang-based band. Through a series of tweets on her X (Twitter) account on Sunday, September 8, 2024, Fanny highlighted the lack of transparency regarding the distribution of royalties for the hit song Asmalibrasi and the lack of empathy of her former band.
Fanny firmly stated that the creator of the song Asmalibrasi had to borrow money for his child's school fees. In fact, the royalties received from the song are worth a fantastic amount, reaching more than half a billion rupiah.
"Just imagine, this song 'Asmalibrasi' that you hear everywhere, the creator even borrowed money to pay for his child's school. The nominal value of the royalties for this song is no joke, more than half a billion, but it is actually people who have no rights who get the most & it is not transparent," wrote Fanny.
In addition to the royalty issue, Fanny also admitted to being hurt because she was forced to perform in the midst of mourning the death of her mother. The 25-year-old singer even received hurtful words.
Not stopping there, Fanny also revealed that when she decided to leave Soegi Bornean, she had to face threats from parties related to Intellectual Property Rights (HAKI). She was forced to pay if she wanted to use the name "Soegi," even though it was her own name.
"I am required to pay for my own name, namely 'Soegi', if I leave with a new entity," said Fanny.

Fanny seemed skeptical of this clarification. In the comments column of Soegi Bornean's Instagram upload, she simply wrote, "Do you believe it?"
Fanny Soegi officially resigned from Soegi Bornean in March 2024 and continued her career as a solo singer. Meanwhile, the band has formed a new formation and continues to work in the music industry.
