Brilio.net/en - Soeharto, the second president of Indonesia, will always be remembered by many people. Being the longest serving president of Indonesia, his presidency lasted for almost 32 years from March 1967 until May 1998. Separate from personal opinions, all his achievements are inseparable from the foundations of this country.

A lot of things happened in Indonesia when 'The Smiling General' as he was nicknamed, was still president. Enter the H.M. Soeharto Museum in Kemusuk, Bantul in Yogyakarta. This museum showcases and elaborates on important events that occurred during Soehartos reign. Its also worth noting that Kemusuk is the birthplace of Soeharto.

Everything you need to know about Soeharto is here

The museum was inaugurated on June 8, 2013 and was initially conceived Probosoetedjo, the younger brother of Soeharto, to reminisce his brothers services.
When you enter the museums area, you will be welcomed by a statue of Soeharto in a pose that seems like saluting his guests. Besides the statue, you will see a wall adorned with Javanese characters saying Sa Sa Sa and a sculpture of Soeharto praying.

Behind the wall, there is Atmosudiro building. In this building, we can see an elaborate display that follows Soeharto throughout his lifetime, starting from his childhood, to his struggle in the military and government, up until his death.

Technology used in this museum is actually pretty amazing. There are automatic doors, a hologram of Soeharto, artistic halls, and sleek-looking historical pictures that are all arranged charmingly.
