Brilio.net - Sad news came from the entertainment world of Indonesia. Comedian and politician Nurul Qomar passed away on Wednesday (8/1) at 17:21 WIB after battling colon cancer.
The news of Qomar's death was confirmed by his wife, Siti Maryam, who was contacted by the media crew. Siti said that Qomar took his last breath at the Tangerang Regional General Hospital (RSUD).
Siti Maryam explained that her husband died in the afternoon.
"Yes (he died) at 17.21," he said briefly, quoted by brilio.net from KapanLagi on Wednesday (8/1).
The body of the comedian who is also known as a member of the comedy group Empat Sekawan is still in the hospital when this information was conveyed. Siti asked for prayers from the public for her late husband. She also added that Qomar's body is still in the hospital.
"Yes, he is still at the regional hospital. Please pray for him," he added.
Qomar is known to have undergone treatment at Tangerang Regional Hospital for recurrent colon cancer. The disease was first discovered to have entered an advanced stage in 2021.
According to the family, Qomar's colon cancer has spread to his liver, which has made his condition increasingly weak in recent times.
Jarwo, one of Qomar's close friends, confirmed that the disease had spread to his liver. "Yes, his colon cancer has spread to his liver. He had surgery before, but maybe because of the busy Pilkada or general election, that's how it is," said Jarwo.
Previously, in 2021, Qomar had revealed to the public that he was diagnosed with stage 4C colon cancer. The disease was discovered through a routine health check-up that he underwent.
During the examination, the specialist doctor stated that colon cancer had reached an advanced stage. Qomar had undergone a number of treatments, including chemotherapy to control the spread of cancer.
Nurul Qomar's passing has left deep sorrow for her family, friends, and fans. Qomar's works, both in the entertainment world and her political career, will always be remembered by the Indonesian people.
