Brilio.net/en - Religion holds an important part in life of Indonesian and most families prefer that their childrens spouse has the same as their child. Often relationships have to broke up because of the religion differences, unless one of them convert religions to follow their bride-to-be or husband-to-be. In this case, celebrities are not an exception and here are list of some of Indonesian celebrities who converts their belief just before their weddings:
1. Marsha Timothy
The actress had her moment of glory when she played in Pintu Terlarang movie with Fachri Albar. She ended up marrying handsome actor Vino G Bastian and a month before their wedding she converted to Islam in the Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque, Jakarta. Although people said she converted just to be able to marry Vino, she declared that she did it because of an enlightenment.
2. Chelsea Olivia
Chelsea Olivia converted her religion when she married an oriental-looking actor Glenn Alienski on October 1, 2016. The TV actress who was a Protestant before now follows her husband as a devout Catholic. Her wedding was reminiscent of a fairytale with all its romantic and luxurious ways.
3. Renata Kusmanto
Before marrying Fachrie Albar, the actor and son of Indonesian legend singer Ahmad Albar, Renata Kusmanto decided to convert to Islam. The model who gained her fame from participating in some of Indonesian designers fashion shows converted her religion in Sunda Kelapa Mosque a week before her wedding party in Dharmawangsa Hotel on May 2014.
4. Asmirandah
The news about TV actress Asmirandahs conversion gained public attention in October 2013. She got married to actor Jonas Rivanno in Moslem way following Asmirandahs original religion, but then her husband converted back to his original religion of Christianity. Asmirandah decided to nullify her marriage with Jonas, converted to became a Christian and then remarried Jonas.
5. Angelina Sondakh
The Indonesian pageant beauty Angelina was a Protestant before she converted to Islam just before her marriage with the late actor Adjie Massaid. The rumor was revealed by Agus Abu Jahar Alhabsy, Angelina Sondakhs spiritual teacher.
6. Christian Soegiono
After 8 years of their up-and-down relationship, the actor who played in Catatan Akhir Sekolah finally proposed to his actress fiancee Titi Kamal. They were officially married after Christian said the two sentences of confession of faith on October 31, 2008. The rumor was confirmed from the chairman of RT 02/12, Kelurahan Jati Rahayu, Kecamatan Pondok Melati Bekasi, where the actor lives.
7. Tamara Bleszynski
Beautiful actress Tamara Bleszynski converted her religion just before her marriage to Teuku Rafly Pasha, a relative of actress Cut Tari. Tamara was a Christian before she converted, but her marriage lasted only for a few years with some drama following her divorce.
8. Willy Dozan
The action actor who gained popularity in the 90s was a Christian. He then decided to convert to Islam before his marriage to singer Betharia Sonata. Unfortunately the marriage was over in August 2002. Willy was remarried for two more times but both marriages were over before they hit one year mark.
9. Melly Goeslaw
Musician and songwriter Melly Goeslaw met the musician Anto Hoed in the 90s band Potret where they work together and Melly was the vocalist. Melly converted to Islam when she married Anto in 1995.
10. Lulu Tobing
The Batak actress is also one of the celebrities who converted before their weddings. Lulu was a Christian before marrying the grandson of ex President Soeharto. Her marriage is now almost over due to all those rumours floating around.
11. Bella Saphira
Bella Saphira converted to Islam in the month of Ramadan 2013. The sexy actress said the two sentences of confession in the Istiqlal Mosque in Central Jakarta a few days before her wedding with an army member.
12. Samuel Zylgwyn
The latest news hails from the young actor Samuel Zylgwyn. He converted from Catholicism to follow his fiancees religion of Christianity. His wedding with Franda was held in April 2016.
