Many people reflexively clean mascara stains with micellar water, but this method can risk making the complexion fade. Water-based cleaning products are usually effective in removing stains, but they can also remove foundation, concealer, or powder that has been applied previously. As a result, makeup becomes uneven, and can even leave marks that are difficult to fix.
To overcome this, a more careful technique is needed so that the mascara stains are removed without disturbing the surrounding makeup. Luckily, a YouTube user Sherly Xu once shared the trick through one of the uploaded videos. She admitted to applying two simple methods so that mascara streaks can be removed, but without damaging the complexion.
As reported by briliobeauty.net from YouTube Sherly Xu on Wednesday (12/2), the difference in the method of removing mascara streaks can be seen from the application of powder. If your cheeks are streaked with mascara before using powder, you can remove it with toner or moisturizer.

The method is, take a little toner product using cotton buds, then wipe it on the cheek area that was affected by the mascara streaks. After the streaks are gone, wait until it dries first. Then cover it again with foundation or complexion. Then set with powder.

However, if the complexion has been applied neatly, you need to use another method, namely by relying on a spoolie brush. Make sure the spoolie brush is clean. Then brush it on the mascara streaks that dirty the cheeks. Rub until the mascara stains fade by themselves.

After the mascara streaks are up, then cover them again with powder to disguise the smudge marks. That way, the makeup looks neater and flawless. But please note that this second method tends to be effective on mascara streaks that are not too thick and numerous. Because if it is like that, the mascara stain will still leave a mark even though it has been cleaned.
