Brilio.net/en - The 38th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) is all set to host an array of art events from June 11 to July 9, 2016 at the Budaya Art Center in Denpasar. This time around, the theme is entitled Karang Awak, Mencintai Tanah Kelahiran, which means To Love Our Homeland. During the opening ceremony, a parade was held to welcome President Joko Widodo. Another highlight was the act by the giant French puppets, which were performed by some 30 entertaining artists of multiple backgrounds!
While this festival represents a platform to value art from all across the globe, it also encourages people to appreciate and learn more about multiple cultures. The head of Balis Culture Office, Dewa Putu Beratha said that culture is universal; culture can also strengthen relationships with foreign countries. He also added that, we have to give room for foreigners to participate, as it will contribute to Balis economy. In fact, artist groups from 11 countries will take the stage during the course of the festival. Japan, Timor Leste, Canada, France and the United States are some of the countries on the list.
