IdulAdha 1437 H is slated to fall on Friday, Sept. 1, 2017 and seeing the possibility of a long weekend that willpotentially lead to a traffic congestion, Jakarta Police is set to deploy 8,000 of its personnel in every corner of their territory.

"We'll send seven to eight thousand officers, plus from related offices. So, it's probably nine to ten thousand in the entire areas of Jakarta Police," said Jakarta Police's deputy head, Bridg. Gen. Suntana at the Jakarta Police headquaarters, South Jakarta, Friday.

Suntana also urged thepeople not to go near the highway when performing takbir torch parade.

"So, do it in your places, mosques and musholas,"he said.

Besides securing the traffic, the police is also tasked to monitor food stability and public order.

"The point is to equate perception. First is to anticipate mudik (exodus) and counter-exodus flow. It's a wake up call, an alarm, so that there would be a follow up of a more technically meeting, both in central or regional level," said National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian.
