The tale of Star Wars might be in distant galaxies in space, but that does not mean fans of the Star Warsgeekdom have to go there just to be stylish like the characters in the movie. To welcome the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18, Lucasfilm and Disney have recently decided to involve 11 fashion designers to create looks based on Star Wars, especially from The Force Awakens, under the label #Force4Fashion.
The 11 fashion favorites are Billy Reid, Cynthia Rowley, Diane Von Furstenberg, Giles, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, Rag & Bone, Timo Weiland, and Todd Snyder. The clothes they designed were unveiled on December 2, in New York, United States. Although inspired from the movie, these clothes are basically not costumes because they could be worn for our daily life.
Each outfit on display reflects the spirit and style of the characters from the JJ Abramss movie. Perhaps, the redesigned Stormtrooper armor from the Opening Ceremony and Ovadia & Sons, shows the most apparent element from Star Wars. Likewise, the Chewbacca-esque coats from Todd Snyder and Billy Reid. The collaboration of 11 designers also includes several outfits inspired by new characters like Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Finn (John Boyega), and Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie)
