The high intensity of toilet use makes this area very easy to get dirty. Even dirt that sticks to the toilet can quickly turn into stubborn crust. This crust can certainly be a nest for bacteria and germs to breed. Therefore, the toilet must be cleaned regularly to prevent dirt buildup.

Unfortunately, many people still ignore this. As a result, the crust that is left too long becomes thicker and really difficult to clean. If it is like that, it takes a special trick to get rid of the stubborn crust .

There are indeed a number of special ingredients that can be used to remove stubborn limescale in the toilet, one of which is citric acid. Usually some people will dissolve citric acid in hot water and then pour it into the toilet. The high acid content in citric acid is considered to be able to remove the limescale.

But besides that method, there are other methods that can be applied to clean the toilet. This method was once practiced by Instagram user @ratnatjahyo. Through one of the videos uploaded, he admitted to only using two kitchen ingredients .

As reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @ratnatjahyo on Saturday (8/24), the kitchen ingredients in question are baking soda and soda. In addition to these two ingredients, he also added powdered detergent as a mixture of toilet cleaners. How to use it, pour soda into a spray bottle. Then add 1 tablespoon of powdered detergent and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. After that, close the bottle and shake it slowly until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.

Next, spray this liquid over the entire dirty toilet surface and let it sit for 1-2 hours. Then scrub the toilet using a brush. When brushed, the crust will easily come off because it is soft. That way, the toilet that has been rinsed will look shinier. A mixture of soda, baking soda, and detergent can be effective in removing crust in the toilet because the combination of these ingredients has properties that can dissolve and lift mineral deposits that form crust. Soda contains phosphoric acid, which is a weak acid compound but is quite effective in dissolving minerals such as calcium and magnesium that form crust.

On the other hand, baking soda or sodium bicarbonate is a mild abrasive that can help scrape off the crust without damaging the toilet surface. In addition, baking soda has alkaline properties that can neutralize the acid from soda drinks, creating a chemical reaction that can help loosen and lift the crust. Meanwhile, detergent functions as a cleaning agent that helps dissolve fat and organic dirt. When mixed with soda drinks and baking soda, detergent can help emulsify and remove any remaining dirt that may still be stuck, while providing a more maximum cleaning effect.
