Brilio.net - Many kitchen tools are made of iron because of its strong and heat-resistant properties, so it can be used for a long time. Although known to be durable, iron kitchen tools have a drawback, namely that they rust easily if exposed to water continuously.
For kitchen utensils with flat surfaces such as spoons or forks, cleaning rust can be done by scrubbing the rusty surface using a brush and soap. However, this does not apply to kitchen utensils with uneven surfaces, such as stick mixers.
Stick mixers are often used to stir food. Because of their round and spaced shape, stick mixers are difficult to clean, so there are often stains left between the circles.
These stains that are not cleaned properly can cause crust or even rust. Generally, special tools such as sandpaper are needed to clean rust on the inside of the mixer stick, which for some people is considered very troublesome.
In fact, there is an easier way to clean rust on a stick mixer. A YouTube netizen named Palu Gada once shared his method through an uploaded video. Instead of using sandpaper, he chose to use a toothbrush and some kitchen ingredients.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Palu Gada on Wednesday (11/12), the kitchen ingredients are baking soda, vinegar, and lemon. For application, mix all the ingredients first. For the vinegar, just use a little (one cup of a small bottle cap) so that the texture of the cleaning mixture is like a paste.

"And don't make it too runny so that it can stick to the kitchen utensils that we are cleaning the rust from," explained YouTube Palu Gada.
Use a toothbrush to mix the ingredients. After that, apply it to the rusty layer of the mixer stick. Make sure all parts are evenly distributed. Then let it sit for 30 minutes so that all the ingredients can be absorbed.

Once it has been left, scrub the mixer stick using a toothbrush. If the mixer stick coating is dry, you can wet it with a little lemon water or vinegar to make it easier to scrub.

For maximum results, scrub again with a dishwashing sponge. Using this tool will make stubborn rust that has stuck even though it has been there for a long time, can be lifted more easily. Do this scrubbing process all the way to the inside of the mixer stick, okay?

Finally, rinse the stick mixer and wash it with dish soap. After cleaning, the stick mixer that was originally full of rust becomes shinier and drier. A number of these ingredients are indeed very effective for cleaning stubborn stains such as rust.
Well, after cleaning and rinsing, dry the stick mixer first. Only after that, store it in the cupboard. Storing the stick mixer in a dry condition will keep it away from moisture, which causes rust.
