Brilio.net - There are lots of kitchen furniture that can support the cooking process. Filters are one of them. Usually these filters have several types which are divided into material, size and function. Generally, people know that filters are made from stainless steel or plastic.

Stainless steel filters are usually used to filter hot food, such as oil. Meanwhile, plastic filters tend to be used to filter food ingredients that have fine fiber, such as juice or grated coconut from which you want to squeeze coconut milk. This plastic filter has a wide size and is often used as a food container.

Usually, if a filter has been used, there will be food residue stuck to it and trapped between the filters. Well, these food wastes are easily lost in the stainless steel filter. However, usually these stains are quite difficult to remove on plastic filters.

Plastic filters can make stains stick more firmly. Well, stains that are not washed completely will remain and leave scars. This is then made worse when the filter is stored in damp conditions.

Well, stains from leftover food can turn into fungus which will blacken over time. This fungus can also become crusty and become increasingly difficult to clean. If this is the case, most people will usually just throw away the plastic filter.

Even though you know what? Actually, this plastic filter can be changed to make it shine like new, you know. Not by brushing, but by other methods that are more effective in removing fungus. The reason is, this brushing cannot remove the crusty black fungus that YouTube user NgapainAja experienced.

"To clean black kitchen furniture like this, we can't brush it. In detail, we use tips," explained YouTube NgapainAja, quoted by BrilioFood on Tuesday (6/2).

So, the tip or trick in question is to soak the filter in a solution of dishwashing soap and baking soda. To do this, just prepare water in a basin. You can adjust the water dosage according to the size of the filter you want to soak.

Next, pour dish soap into the basin. Only then add enough baking soda. After that, stir until all the ingredients are dissolved. If so, put a plastic filter into the basin. Make sure the filter is completely submerged, then let it sit for 30 minutes.

Well, the filter that has been soaked is basically clean and free of mold. However, for maximum results, you can immediately rub the filter using a dishwashing sponge so that the remaining mold stains that are still attached will come off even further. After that, rinse under running water until the remaining soap is gone. That way, this plastic filter will look even shinier and really clean.

Basically, you can practice this method on other kitchen furniture made of plastic, you know. Usually plastic furniture that is rarely used tends to get moldy easily. Well, apart from removing mold stains, this method also makes the furniture more hygienic because baking soda also helps kill germs that stick to kitchen furniture.
