Brilio.net - LPG gas cylinders have become the main source of fuel used by the majority of Indonesians for cooking purposes. The use of gas cylinders as stove fuel is considered very practical and easy to obtain. The use of gas cylinders allows various cooking activities in the kitchen to be carried out more efficiently.

Gas cylinder variations are available in several capacities ranging from 12 kg, 7 kg, to 3 kg to meet various needs. The 3 kg gas cylinder is the main choice for people to use on a household scale. The more affordable price of the 3 kg gas cylinder can help optimize household expenses.

Continuous use of small capacity gas cylinders can cause gas supplies to run out quickly. Various efforts to save gas usage have been made by the community to overcome this problem. One method that is often applied is to soak the gas cylinder in water.

Soaking gas cylinders in water is believed to increase the pressure of the frozen gas when the contents of the cylinder are almost empty. However, based on information from PT Pertamina Patra Niaga via kominfo.go.id, the practice of soaking gas cylinders in water is not recommended because it can cause corrosion and damage. A safer alternative method has been shared by Yoga Arief via his YouTube channel by modifying the stove to optimize gas usage.

As reported by BrilioFood on Monday (16/12), the modified part is the stove burner. The tools used to modify the stove burner are actually quite easy to use. In the video, he relies on used zinc and river stones.

First, remove the burner from the stove body. Then make sure the zinc used has the same width as the stand on the stove burner. After that, install the zinc by surrounding the outside of the stove stand

"This is intended to reduce the space for heat to move. We just need to block it around this round hole," said Yoga Arief.

After the outside is installed with zinc, glue each base with a clamp. Well, this clamp can be made from zinc that is cut short and folded into two parts resembling a clamp shape. Then insert it on each level to glue the zinc that has been installed.

Next, reinstall the stove on the stove body. Then place the prepared river stones on the stove stove, more precisely in between the stove and the stove burner. Now, make sure the size of the river stones is not too big, so that it will not interfere with the placement of the pot or pan.

"The more, the better. This is intended to retain heat, but not interfere with the fire that comes out. And later the heat can help the cooking process," he explained further.

Well, this modified stove is ready to use. So how it works, the zinc and stone will increase the heat temperature in the stove area. Although the stove fire is lit with a small wick, the food can be cooked quickly because the heat temperature increases drastically. This is what then makes the use of gas cylinders still economical.
